-
Where do you ship? We ship across Canada, USA, UK, France, Germany, Australia & New Zealand.
-
What are your shipping rates and times? Our shipping rates & times are determined at the checkout, based on the size, weight & destination of the package. In Canada, they operate only during weekday hours.
-
Do you offer local pickup? Yes, we offer local pickup. Orders can be placed online to pickup during our regular business hours.
-
Will I have to pay duties/taxes on international orders? Any of the products we make here at our shop are exempt from tariffs for USA. (Hand Dyed Fabric & Yarn, Applique or Rug Hooking Kits & Patterns, our shop Rug Hooks, etc.). Other countries may have duties, or fees.
-
What is the process of shipping to the USA? To ensure our products that are made in Canada, USA or Mexico are tariff free, we have to ship all of the orders to the USA in a large package to our shipping provider together. We do this once per week - usually on Wednesdays or Thursdays, unless you paid for Expedited Tracked Shipping. If you paid for Expedited Tracked Shipping, it is shipped on its own, as soon as it's ready. Regardless of shipping selection, it takes a few days at the border for Canadian Border Services & U.S. Customs to check the items in each package before releasing it to USPS for delivery. They operate only during weekday hours.

The current process for shipping into the USA for EXEMPTION or REDUCTION of Tariffs
When the tariffs began, we knew we wanted to do whatever we could to help our customers in the USA, they have always been such huge supporters of our shop. So we sought out a shipping company that helped us navigate getting Certificate of Origins so that anything we make at our shop (or that falls under CUSMA) would be able to have Tariff Exemptions, or in some cases Tariff Reductions. This took several weeks of work to prepare our website to have the ability to ensure our customers in the USA wouldn't be paying more at the checkout than necessary. All of our Hand Dyed Wool Fabric, Bundles & Yarns are tariff exempt. As are our Pre-Cut Pennies, Wooden Hangers, shop made Rug Hooks, Kits & Paper Patterns for Applique & lastly, our Kits & Patterns for Rug Hooking/Needle Punch. There are some items that have reduced tariffs on them, also anything we don't make ourselves have tariffs, but they are also reduced, in most cases.
To be able to make this exemption, or reduced tariffs happen, we must package all of our orders that are shipping to the USA together & send via Purolator (we pay extra for 1 day shipping) to our shipping provider, Chit Chats. Once they get the orders, they are processed in Bedford, then sent to Niagara Falls where Canada Border Services does there job, making sure each package has the appropriate tariff paid in advance, or exempt. This must be done before they can send it across the border to U.S. Customs. Once cleared by U.S. Customs (which takes up to 3 business days), it is handed over to USPS for delivery. These extra steps in the process have, unfortunately, added days to shipping — but we thought that would be better than paying tariffs. Without the exemption we have obtained, the tariff on wool is 100% so it would cost DOUBLE for our customers in the USA to buy our hand dyed wool fabric, bundles, kits & yarn. We know & understand everyone is eager to get their goodies in their hands as quickly as possible, but we do please ask for patience when ordering from us to ship to the USA. The extra shipping times are out of our control.
If you need your package quickly, we do have the option for Expedited Shipping, which would mean we wouldn't hold your order to ship with the bulk package of orders that are going to the USA. We would ship it on its own via Purolator to Chit Chats, as soon as it's ready. Doing that means purchasing a shipping label for Purolator, as well as a shipping label for Chit Chats — which is why the shipping cost is so much higher. This would take maybe 2-3 days off the shipping time.
Mom & I package the orders as quickly as we can to avoid delays & we appreciate your continued support, love & patience! Maybe someday it will be simplified again, like it used to be.. til then, we will keep on doing whatever we have to do to be able to continue to provide our products & designs to our American Friends, south of the border. Thank Ewe 🥰
